The Best Clear Aligner Solution in the UK

Imagine how you'll feel, 6 months from now

I always assumed clear aligners were mostly the same, but 32Co was different. They don't just send you aligners in the mail - you get expert guidance from actual orthodontists throughout your treatment. That made all the difference in my case!

While Invisalign might be the most well-known name, they haven't managed to catch up to some of their newer competitors on the market, which people are starting to catch on to.

The best of the lot, is 32Co, and there's a very good reason why they're the new go-to option for clear aligners: they have a much smarter, more personalized approach than Invisalign, so you get superior results at a fraction of the cost.

Meanwhile, Invisalign hasn't changed much since they upgraded the material they make their aligners from to SmartTrack back in 2013. As you can imagine, they're falling behind in innovation by now.

So, what makes 32Co's approach so much better? They put expert orthodontists at the heart of your treatment. Every step of your 32Co journey is meticulously planned and guided by an actual top UK specialist orthodontist.

Compare that to Invisalign, where they have no safeguard against refinements, which are needed over half the time. Most orthodontists say it's rarer to not need them than it is to need them. That's a lot. And that means you'd need to pay for a more expensive Invisalign package to cover it, plus wear these extra sets of aligners for another 3-6 months to fix the problem.

This doesn't happen with 32Co, because they actively check how the progress is going with you during the process. And you don't even have to come to the dentist for it. They have a free online treatment check-in tool so you can do it from home.

Patient Results

Marcus' Story

Anterior alignment of both arches quickly improved this patient’s smile in less than 6 months. A touch of composite improved tooth symmetry on the upper arch. The patient decided to leave the posterior crossbites and midline shift untreated because of the additional length of treatment (+6 months).

Results are Often 2x Faster than Other Clear Aligner Brands

32Co is like the "Ferrari" of clear aligners

32Co's advanced planning that we talked about earlier, means your treatment is likely to be twice as quick as traditional aligner brands like Invisalign. This is taking into account that lack of need for another course of refining treatment.

The timeframe you're likely looking at is about two weeks until 32Co's orthodontists and lab technicians finish and ship to us your aligners. Then you can start right away.

Other aligner brands promise results in "as little as 6 months." 32Co do it in three, and that's partly because the material they're made from is nothing short of excellent.

The High Tech Material 32Co Aligners Made From

This might sound a little complex, but it's worth talking about so you know exactly why 32Co's aligners themselves are the best on the market.

Invisalign's SmartTrack material, LD30, is a multilayer aromatic thermoplastic polyurethane from methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and 1,6-hexanediol plus additives. They changed to it in 2013, replacing the old EX30 material, since LD30 has a more amorphous structure and greater elastic recovery.

32Co however, let your dentist choose from any of the best materials on the market. The one we use is a Zendura polyurethane trilayer proprietary blend (manufactured by Straumann). The reason why it's so good is it's an elastomeric layer between 2 resilient, low-porosity shells. The outer layer has low porosity, allowing the aligner to be tough and stain resistant and help grip teeth firmly, while its inner layer focused on enhanced elasticity, to provide consistent and continuous force.

In a nutshell, 32Co's material is all about consistency. It's resilient where you need it to be — on the outside — to keep the fit accurate while your teeth are moved into alignment, and very continuous in the force it applies to your teeth.

That means less initial "shock" force on your teeth with each new set of aligners throughout the treatment, and they stay effective rather than dropping off in effectiveness rather quickly, like single layer materials do. See the graph below.

32Co's Zendura material has much less initial "shock" force with each new set of aligners

So, as you can see, 32Co aligner material is pretty much perfect in its performance.

Invisalign's SmartTrack material is about the same. The point here, is not that Invisalign's material is bad at all. It's that 32Co's is just as good but doesn't charge you a premium for it.

In terms of stiffness there is a slight difference, Zendura is a little stiffer than Invisalign, but it doesn't need to be as thick, so you tend to end up with thinner aligners that work just as well.

Done Right the First Time (No Need for Refinements)

You'll give it your thumbs-up too

One of the biggest frustrations with clear aligner treatment is the need for refinements — extra aligners that extend treatment time, which, as we talked about earlier, are needed over half the time with other brands, including Invisalign.

However, 32Co's expert-led approach means you get things done right the first time, saving you those months of hassle and additional costs.

Here's what you'll see on the online check-in tool you'll get access to once you start:

This is how you'll check-in from home

Invisalign don't offer this. But this is a part of every 32Co clear aligner plan — even the very cheapest one.

They'll send you a check-in schedule, and you'll also get a text and email when the time is right to do a check-in. We'll also receive photos of the aligner fit and see the stage and days you've been wearing it for, and you'll even get a chance at each check-in to tell us about any concerns you might have about how the treatment's going.

32Co is Cheaper than Invisalign (For a Good Reason)

The perfect excuse to treat yourself

Now, because 32Co is so much more efficient due to not needing extra refinement, it means they're much cheaper too. But there's another reason they're cheaper, that you might not know about.

You see, Invisalign charges very high lab fees compared to other aligner brands, which your dentist has to pay out of your treatment price. That's because Invisalign are able to mark up the price because, at least until now, they had very little competition.

This is why Invisalign costs £1,000 to £1,800 more than 32Co no matter who you get treatment with, and that's not even counting the extra refinement courses of treatment you'll probably need.

So, we offer 32Co at a much lower price than Invisalign, not because it worth less than Invisalign, but because we can. It makes aligners a truly affordable option for the general public, and to us, as dentists who want to improve the smiles of everyone we can, that's a huge win.

A Final Roundup of Why You Should Choose 32Co Aligners

  • Orthodontists at the Helm: With 32Co, it's not just your dentist making the treatment plan. Every single case gets reviewed by a top orthodontist – those are the specialists who have years of extra training just in moving teeth. It's like having a master architect double-checking your house blueprints.

  • Precision is Key: Because of this expert input, 32Co gets things right the first time. Fewer surprises mean fewer mid-treatment adjustments (those dreaded "refinements"). That translates to faster results and less hassle for you.

  • Streamlined Process Means Savings for You: 32Co's efficient collaboration between orthodontists and dentists keeps overhead low, translating into cost savings passed directly to you.

  • No Big-Brand Markup: Invisalign is a huge company with a huge marketing budget. Guess who pays for all those ads? You do. 32Co skips the flashy campaigns and focuses on what matters: expert orthodontic care and efficient processes that keep costs down for patients.

  • Get Results Twice as Fast: 32Co's unique approach, combining orthodontic expertise with your dentist's care, results in treatment times that are significantly faster than Invisalign.

Vivera retainers are by Invisalign, and work for 32Co treatment too. You wear these at night after your treatment is finished, to make sure you your teeth stay in alignment.

Fixed retainers do the same thing, but they're permanent. They're like a little metal wire on the back of your teeth, holding them together. I personally (the writer of this article) have fixed retainers, and I highly recommend them. You don't even notice them, and they're still keeping my teeth perfectly straight over 15 years later.
